Maslow’s is designed to optimise work performance. These House Rules exist to protect the atmosphere, our members, and the way the house feels – calm, considered, and welcoming.
A note on how we host
1. Access to Maslow’s
• Checking in and out: Please check in and out at Reception each time you enter or leave.
• Respect for our neighbours: We ask that members and guests are considerate when arriving and departing, particularly in the evenings.
• Our stewardship of the houses: Maslow’s retains management of all areas of the houses.
• House access and security procedures (including out of hours): Access to Houses is subject to our security procedures. Members and guests are expected to comply with all access controls and any instructions given by our team. Maslow’s reserves the right to refuse or revoke access where needed to comply with landlord or security obligations.
Access outside normal working hours may be restricted in some Houses, in some spaces and in some cases by membership tier. House opening hours are found on the member portal. Members are not allowed in staff areas.
2. WORKING CONDUCT
Maslow’s is designed around shared common areas. While in the Houses members may not:
- • Reserve tables or chairs in common areas by leaving items on them
Leave belongings unattended in common areas for more than 20 minutes.Items will be removed by team members and stored at Reception for collection:
- • Dedicated lockers are available to rent monthly, subject to availability
- • Leave personal items in places that inconvenience others
• Using Maslow’s as an address: Members can send small items to be delivered to reception desks, but we cannot hold items for longer than 48 hours and we are not liable for any item held in reception as it is not secure storage.
• Calls and devices: To protect the calm atmosphere in shared spaces:Please keep phones on silent in common areas and dedicated desk areas.Loud phone or video calls are not permitted in these areas. Calls are welcome in designated spaces such as phone booths and meeting roomsPlease ensure your guests follow the same approach
• Evening device policy in members’ lounges: From 6pm onwards, laptops and phones are not permitted in members’ lounge spaces.
• Photography, filming, and recording: Please do not photograph other members without their consent. Cameras or recording devices (including phones) may not be used for commercial purposes (including press, blogs, or promotional content) without Maslow’s explicit consent. Please request this via marketing@maslows.com, we reserve the right to chargesMaslow’s reserves the right to photograph and film in communal areas for our marketing purposes. Filming signs will be on display. Please notify a member of staff if you do not wish to be captured.
3. PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES
Maslow’s is a place for thoughtful work, good conversation, and time well spent. Members and guests may not use the premises or services to conduct any activity:
- • Prohibited by law
- • Not properly authorised
- • That violates intellectual property laws (including illegal downloading)
We do not tolerate conduct that is offensive, discriminatory, or harmful to others, including involvement in hate groups or hate ideologies. Pornographic or sexually explicit material is not permitted in the house in any form or medium.
• Harassment: Harassment of any kind, including sexual harassment, will not be tolerated between members and to Maslow’s staff. Any such behaviour will be reported to the House General Manager. Where a complaint is found to be justified, Maslow’s may terminate membership immediately, at its absolute discretion, without refund.
• Disruption and safety: Members and guests agree to refrain from hazardous or disruptive behaviour, including disorderly conduct or excessive noise.
• Digital safety: Members or guests may not upload or introduce files containing viruses, Trojan horses, worms, corrupted files, or any similar software that may damage or disrupt Maslow’s systems, equipment, or the systems of members or third parties.
4. Dress code
Maslow’s has a relaxed dress code. We simply ask that members and guests dress in a way that feels considered and appropriate to a shared house.
5. FOOD & BEVERAGE
• House spaces: Only Maslow’s food and drink is allowed to be consumed within Maslow’s communal spaces; Living Room & Den, Pied a Terre, Library, Cafe, Gallery.
• Member kitchens: Member kitchens are available within the Houses for storing and warming of food. Please be mindful of others, clean after use, and handle appliances with care. Maslow’s provides complimentary teas, coffee, milks, fresh fruit and healthy snacks for the enjoyment of our members. Please help yourself and kindly leave the space as you found it for the next person including loading of dirty dishes into the dishwasher.
• Where outside food and drink can be consumed: Food and drink purchased outside the Houses can be enjoyed only in designated areas such as kitchenettes, resident desks, studies or small member meeting rooms (ones used with credits)
• Food delivery: Food delivery services must be met at reception and can only be consumed in designated areas
6. USE OF EQUIPMENT & FACILITIES
• Gym and fitness studio: Use of gym or fitness facilities is entirely at a member’s own risk. Guests are not permitted to access the gym. Members are required to complete the Gym Questionnaire and attend a Gym Induction on safe and proper use of equipment before they are allowed to use gyms. Once a member is inducted they can use any of the Maslow’s gyms. Maslow’s does not accept liability for loss or injury caused by not attending a Gym Induction, unsafe or improper use of equipment or facilities (including use under the influence of alcohol or medication), or failure to disclose a relevant medical condition. Please observe all signage and published rules and take reasonable precautions when using the gym. Maslow’s reserves the right to request members pre-book gym slots to ensure space for everyone. We have limited slots for classes and these need to be pre-booked on the Member Portal. Should a member no longer be able to attend they are required to cancel 24 hours in advance of the class or Maslow’s deducts a £25 fee per class no show charge.
• Accidents and incidents: If a member or guest has an accident or suffers injury in our Houses, please inform a member of the team as soon as possible, and no later than 24 hours after the incident.
7. smoking & vaping
Smoking and vaping are not permitted anywhere inside the Houses. Smoking and vaping are also prohibited in external areas of the building including terraces, balconies, and entrances, in line with landlord policy and applicable laws unless signposted in designated outdoor areas.
8. GUESTS AT MASLOW’S
• Guest numbers and daytime limits: During business hours (9am – 5pm), members may invite up to 3 guests per day, and guests may stay for up to 2 hours and no longer. Any guest staying longer than 2 hours will be asked to leave by staff. Members who allow guests to stay longer than 2 hours will be reminded about the policy with persistent offenders having membership terminated. Members who wish to invite more guests should book meeting rooms during business hours. After 5pm members may still invite up to 3 guests per day, without the 2-hour limit. If members wish to invite more guests during the evening and weekends please request permission from the General Manager in advance. Guests are able to access with a member whenever reception is open to check them in. Guests may use the common areas and must be accompanied by the inviting member at all times.
• Business meeting: Business meetings should take place in meeting rooms. Members may invite as many guests as the room can accommodate without exceeding capacity limits. Maslow’s reserves the right to refuse service or ask any member or guest to leave the premises at any time, at its sole discretion.
• Guest registration and arrival: Members must register expected guests via the member portal in advance of the guest arrival. The guest email needs to be registered so they receive a QR to scan when they arrive allowing for a smooth guest welcome. Maslow’s requires contact information for all members and guests in our Houses and may be made available to regulators and law enforcement upon reasonable request. Guests must sign in at Reception on arrival. Members are responsible for receiving their guests from Reception, unless a meeting room has been booked, in which case a Maslow’s team member may direct the guest to the room. Guests who arrive before the member will be asked to wait at Reception until the member arrives. Members may not leave guests in the premises after they depart.
• Guest use of the Gym is not prohibited: Guests do not have access to the studio or gym unless it is a permitted guest event or programme due to insurance policies.
• Our stewardship of the houses: Maslow’s retains management of all areas of the houses.

9. meeting rooms
Subject to availability, members may book meeting rooms via the member portal or ask reception to do so on their behalf.
• Payment: By making a booking, members agree to pay any fees. Meeting room credits can be used to book or part book meeting rooms.
• Hire periods and extensions: Room-hire fees cover the initial hire period only. If you would like to extend your booking, please speak with Reception. Extensions are subject to availability and the relevant additional fee.
• Capacity and safe use: Please do not exceed the capacity limit for any meeting room.
• Unauthorised use: If a meeting room is being used without a booking, Maslow’s may ask you to vacate the room and/or charge for the time used. If you wish to continue using the room, you will be charged accordingly.
• AV and technical support: Technical assistance is available for the use of in-room AV equipment, where required.
• Cancellations: Meeting room fees will automatically be charged unless at least 24 hours’ notice is given.
• External bookings: Large meeting rooms may be booked by guests of members and external visitors where the booking is made at least 48 hours in advance and the booking is for no less than two hours. External meeting room bookings must be paid in advance and are non-refundable unless at least 48 hours’ notice is given.
• Meeting room catering: Members and guests must not bring in or consume any externally purchased food, drink, or catering in external meeting rooms. Tea, coffee, and filtered water are provided, and a range of snacks and meals can be pre-ordered or ordered during your meeting. To order please contact reception.
10. space closures
From time to time, we may close part of the house to members and guests for private events or for maintenance, repair, or redecoration. Where areas are closed for private events, please respect the privacy of those using the space.
Where all or part of the house is closed for maintenance, repair, redecoration, or where we need to withdraw facilities or services because we believe they may present a risk to health or safety, or are detrimental to the business, we will aim to reinstate the relevant area, amenities, or service as soon as practical, and keep disruption to a minimum. Maslow’s will communicate suitable alternative areas to work on the member portal. Any member not finding a place to work should contact reception or House General Manager.
11. members feedback & consent
While you are a member we will occasionally invite feedback on your experience of the house. We will always ask you if you are willing to share this feedback publicly.
We may also film, photograph, or record member events and activities in the house for use in membership programmes, and for advertising, promotions, public relations, and other commercial or business purposes. By taking part in these interviews or events, you agree that Maslow’s may use your name, image, and limited other information for those purposes. You also consent to the publication of these materials without further consent, and you waive any right to payment in connection with that publication.
12. dog policy
Maslow’s welcomes well-behaved dogs under 25kg, subject to dog registration ahead of their first visit.
13. children
- • Anyone under 18 is not permitted in the houses after 8pm
- • Anyone under 18 is not permitted in the gym at any time
- • Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian
- • Members are responsible for their child’s behaviour and any damage caused, and should remain with them at all times
14. cctv
Maslow’s operates CCTV for the safety and security of members, guests, and the team. Members agree that activities in the house may be monitored, and any illegal act recorded may be shared with the police or relevant authorities.
14. books, newspapers, periodicals & magazines
Reading materials are provided for members’ enjoyment. Please return newspapers, books, and magazines to where you found them. They remain the property of Maslow’s.
15. fire safety
Members and guests must comply with all fire safety procedures in the house, including evacuation procedures, alarm testing, and emergency drills.
If a fire alarm sounds, please follow the directions of the house team, fire wardens, or security immediately. If you require additional assistance in the event of an emergency, please notify Maslow’s in advance so that a Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan (PEEP) can be arranged.
16. WASTE & SUSTAINABILITY
Please dispose of all waste in line with the house’s waste and recycling procedures, including separating recyclable, food, and general waste.
17. DELIVERIES
Small item can be ordered to receptions. Reception team will notify members of delivery including time and date via the member portal. All deliveries to be collected within 48 hours or they will be returned to sender. Note we don’t offer secure storage.
18. BILLS
Please settle all bills in full before leaving the Houses at the end of the day. Members are responsible for any unpaid bills incurred by their guests. If bills are not settled promptly, membership may be suspended.
19. COMPLAINTS & DISCIPLINARY ACTION
Maslow’s may report conduct to appropriate law enforcement agencies where necessary.
Membership is built on mutual respect and alignment with the ethos of the house. If Maslow’s considers that a member’s conduct (or the conduct of their guests), whether inside or outside the premises, is contrary to the interests and ethos of Maslow’s, we may expel the member from the premises and/or suspend or terminate membership at our absolute discretion, without giving reasons.
If you have a complaint or feedback, in the first instance please speak to your General Manager.
20. LIABILITY
Maslow’s accepts no responsibility for loss of, or damage to, the property of members or guests while in the houses. Please don’t leave your belongings unattended.
21. AMENDMENTS
Maslow’s may update these House Rules at its sole discretion. The most current version will be published in the members’ portal.
