Maslow's Kensington is Now Open

How your study agreement works

Maslow’s studies are let on a fixed-term basis, with an agreement that is “contracted out” of Part 2 of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 (the “Act”).

In practice, this means:

• We agree a fixed contract term together before you membership begins.
• When the term ends, the contract concludes.
• There is no automatic right to renew (know as “security of tenure”) under the Act.
• Maslow’s will reach out to discuss a new agreement if you would like to renew your agreement before the contract end date.
• By doing so, it keeps the agreement straightforward and supports the flexibility members often need as plans evolve.

Because the contract excludes automatic renewal rights, the law requires a formal notice and declaration process before you sign.

Contract timeline

There are two routes that can be taken to sign the contract, depending on how quickly you need to complete.

Standard CONTRACT route

This process takes around two weeks, and is used when there is at least 14 days until you need to complete the agreement and move into the office.

Step 1: Warning
We send you a formal notice, LTBT1, explaining the rights you’re choosing to waive if you proceed with a Maslow’s study lease.

Step 2:  Declaration
After 14 days of receiving the LTBT1, we send you form LTBT2 to complete – this is your declaration confirming you understand the LTBT1 notice.

Step 3: Contract Signing
We email the contract for signing (typically within one working day of receiving your completed LTBT2).
